Chris Gladwin is an American computer engineer and entrepreneur, who has founded or co-founded a series of tech related companies.

Career
Gladwin has a degree in mechanical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He created the first "workgroup storage server" while working for Zenith Data Systems, before moving on to manage storage at Lockheed Martin. He has founded or co-founded a series of tech related companies including:
- Cruise Technologies, founded in the 1990s, and maker of wireless tablet computers
- MusicNow, founded in 1998, which reached a customer base of 100,000 customers before being sold to Circuit City Details of the sale were not disclosed.
- Cleversafe, founded in 2004 and sold to IBM $1.3 billion in 2015
- Ocient, co-founded in 2016, and which raised $10 million in series A funding
Patents and awards
He is the author of more than 300 issued and pending patents. He has also been the recipient of at least 16 industry awards for his work.

Philanthropy
In 2015 Gladwin donated $7.6 million to Illinois Institute of Technology, for which he sits on the board of trustees. He serves on the board of a number of other organizations, including the Museum of Broadcast Communications, SmartBet Charities, the Chicago Innovation Awards as well as the Chicagoland Entrepreneurial Center. He sits on the steering committee for the Illinois Business Immigration Coalition.
